Stuart Leaf, the creator of Thougharena was previously the founder/head of Cadogan Management, LLC., a significant Fund of Hedge Funds, based in New York, with offices in London and Tokyo. During his almost two decades running Cadogan, Mr. Leaf was responsible for a monthly newsletter that often centered around investment topics, but which often broadened out into areas of politics, economics and general management. While at Cadogan, he also edited a number of publications on restaurants and hotels for the use of clients, managers, service providers and friends of the firm.
Prior to Cadogan, Mr. Leaf held a number of positions in the financial service world, as head of Asset Management business at Mabon Securities; Partner in the Private Equity firm of Clearbrook and Company and (for his sins) as an investment banker with both Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Leaf grew up in New York, Brussels and London, attending local schools before seeking the sun in California, where he received BA’s in Economics and French, an MA in French Literature and an MBA from Stanford University.
Apart from the financial markets his passions range from food and wine to travel, literature, art, music and, most importantly, people.
